June Stitch from Stash

Month : June
Spent: $ 14.25
Carryover: $ 14.57
Balance: $ 25.32

Good afternoon! It's that time of the month, to share my update for the Stitch from Stash group. This will be my last one. I have decided not to join back up. I want to thank Mel and all her lovely helpers! I appreciate all the hard work you have done to make this such a great group! After 18 months, I am ready to take a break. :-)

I am feeling very virtuous this month! I bought 3 small patterns from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery ,earlier this month when they were having a sale and I bought the newest Classic Colorworks / Little House Needleworks thread pack. Well, I have stitched and finished two of the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery patterns and I am almost done with the LHN piece!  Yay me! :-) :-) :-)
I already showed you the scissor fob that I finished. Today, I have Ice Cream, You Scream to show you. It was a fun little stitch and I just did a simple finish. I am hoping to find some cute ribbon or an ice cream cone charm. :-)

I am almost finished with my next piece. It is Sweet Rose by Little House Needleworks, with two of the new Classic Colorworks threads. I think I might make it into a quilted wall hanging. :-)
I probably won't have much to show for a while, because we are leaving to go and visit family for two weeks. Hopefully I will be able to squeeze in some stitching. :-)

I hope that you are having a lovely start to summer, or winter.
Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

May Stitch from Stash

May:
Balance forward: $ 46.77
Budget $25.00
Spent: $ 57.20
Balance to carryover: $ 14.57

Good evening! I got confused on my dates, so I am just going to have a quick post!

Thank you so much for all of your sweet and encouraging comments on my last post! I am still replying to them. :-)

I visited a new to me cross stitch shop this past month. My husband had a comp day during the week, so we headed down to Ocean City, Maryland. I had a few minutes to pop into Salty Yarns. You definitely need way more than a few minutes! :-) But I was able to get in enough trouble in those few minutes. :-)
It's definitely a shop to visit if you ever have the chance!

After visiting Salty Yarns, I felt like stitching again! I am not stitching a whole lot, but I am enjoying it! I finished the adorable project that I showed last time. I just love it! I need to make a trip to JoAnns to find some fabric to finish it up. :-)

One of my purchases this month was County Cottage Needleworks Seasonal Celebrations: Summer. I am loving it! I plan on doing all of the pieces in the series. I love everything about this stitchery! The words, the little cottage and the bunting! :-) :-) :-)

Hopefully I will be back soon with this piece finished!

See you soon! Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

March Stitch from Stash update

March:
Spent: $20
Earned: $0
Balance: $28.52

Good afternoon!  Sorry for being so quiet! It's been a month full of highs and lows! One of the wonderful highs was our oldest son married his sweetheart! We are so thrilled to be gaining another daughter!

Not a lot of stitching going here this month. I did manage to finish an ornament that I started last December. It was a fun stitch and I am working up the courage to "finish" it. :-)

Hopefully April will be filled with more stitching and some sunshine and green! :-) Did I mention it's snowing right now. :-( :-).

I didn't do as well as I should have for the Stitch from Stash.  Darn you Pinterest and Instagram! :-) I ordered a booklet from the bay of evil and an older Prairie Schooler pattern from a seller on Amazon.

I hope that you are all well. I hope to answer comments and be back to visiting your blogs soon!

Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

January stitch from stash

January: $ 25 budget
Spent: $ 17.20
Balance: $ 2.80

Hi everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day! It's cold, but at this point I can handle anything as long it's sunny. :-) Can you tell that I have been struggling with the winter blues? ! :-)

Not a whole lot of stitching going on this month. I have been working on my Momma Cardinal ornament and a Valentine's piece. In fact the pattern for the valentine's piece is one of the things that I spent money on. I bought another chart, but it is a gift for a friend and she reads the blog, so I will have to wait to show you that. :-) I would have finished the valentines piece yesterday, but then we decided to pull out a puzzle and work on it together. Well, let's just say that I am a bit obsessive when it comes to puzzles. :-) So, not much else got done yesterday afternoon and evening. But we did make lots of lovely memories together. :-)

I hope to control my obsessive tendencies and finish the piece and finish it and my February Calendar girl before Sunday. I'm going to be giving away the pattern for both of them, so if you are interested in either of these, check back in a few days. :-)

I have pulled out a pattern that has been in my stash for many years, and I am working on finding all of the DMC for it. I love everything about tea and have wanted a tea tray for a long time, so I am going to stitch this and purchase the tray that it fits in. I am hoping that darling husband will get it for my birthday in February, but if he doesn't I will just save for it. :-) Hopefully in my next stitch from stash update, I will have made a nice start.

Well, there is a puzzle calling my name, so I had better finish up some chores. :-)

Happy Stitching!

Stitch from Stash update #12

It's just me and little man today, hubby and daughter are out Christmas shopping and then going to see the new Hobbit movie, so I thought that I would pop on here and give my final update for this year's stitch from stash.
I finally got around to making up some of my stitching pieces into ornaments and a pillow. I am so happy with how they all turned out. :-) I once ruined a piece completely while trying to make it up, so I have been a little hesitant. I decided to just put my big girl panties on and get it done!
:-) :-) :-) The funny thing is that I can sew fairly complicated items. I have made two period correct Regency gowns and undergarments. I am just one of those people who need step by step instructions. :-)
One of my goals for next year, is to try and learn different finishing techniques and being better at making up all of the pieces that I have waiting in my stitching bag.
I am so excited that I made it through the entire year of the stitch from stash challenge. I have already signed up for the next one. I am really going to try and spend as little as possible in the next challenge. I have so much amazing stash that I want to stitch.
So without any further ramblings here is my update. I had $71.42 carryover and adding this month's budget of $ 25 that gives me $ 96.42.
I spent $ 6 on etsy for an older pattern that I have been searching for and $28.20 at the Strawberry Sampler for 3 skeins of over dyed threads and 3 patterns. :-)
So, I ended up with a balance of $62.22. I think that is pretty good ! :-)
Well, lots of wrapping to do and a few knitted gifts left to finish. I will be back soon with a post on a different kind of WIP. :-)
Happy Stitching!
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #9

Wow, I can't believe that we are at the end of September!  Once again, I am posting on the last day! I am a naughty Heather!  :-)
This is going to be a short and sweet post. We went to Longwood Gardens yesterday.  I have a bad back and I over did it with the walking. So, I am a hot mess to say the least!  :-(
I have been very busy stitching this month and have lots to share. I am hoping that I will feel up to pulling out the ironing board and getting things ready to photograph in a few days.
I was going to have a no spend month again, but we stopped at the Strawberry Sampler on the way to Longwood Gardens yesterday. I was good, even though I wanted to be very naughty!  :-) I ended up getting the Harvest thread pack and a skein of DMC.
So my total for the month is $ 13.39. $ 13 for the thread pack and .39 for the DMC.  I started with $49.75 carryover and adding this month's budget of $ 25 comes to $74.75. So, that gives me $61.36 to carryover. I hope my math is correct. :-)
Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #8

Good afternoon! I am just squeaking in for this month. To be honest, I lost track of time. :-)

Not a whole lot of stitching this month. I made a tiny bit of progress on my August Poppies and dug into my kitted up projects and made a small start on Pumpkin Patch Inn by Little House Needleworks. I love autumn and autumn stitching is my favorite. :-)

Not a lot going on around here. Just enjoying the last few days of summer, and our youngest celebrated his 10th birthday.

I did really well this month. I didn't buy anything. Yeah me!  I was very tempted, especially with the bonus, but I started going through my stash and that helped me to not spend anything. :-)

So, onto the details. I had $24.75 carryover and with this month's budget of $ 25.00. That gives me $49.75 to carryover. :-)

I hope to have more time to stitch this next month. :-)

Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #7

Good afternoon!  I hope you all are having a lovely Monday! We had huge thunderstorms roll through here in the middle of the night, so it's a little bit cooler today.

Thanks for your lovely comments on my cottage post. I am in the process of responding to comments from my last couple of posts.

July has been a very full month. My daughter had a lovely birthday, thank you for your kind birthday wishes for her. :-) We went to the beach for her birthday and to the Dogfish Head brewery for dinner. It was amazing! :-)

Not too long before we left the beach, hubby was body surfing and got taken off guard and slammed by the waves and ended up breaking his wrist and dislocating his elbow. :-(
Being the good daddy that he is, he didn't want it to interfere with her day, so he downplayed it and didn't go to urgent care until that night when we got home. :-)

Since moving to Delaware,I have truly fallen in love with the seashore! :-) If we lived closer to the beach,I am pretty sure that I would be there every day! :-)
When I was choosing my next project after finishing my August cottage, I decided to pick out a beach themed one. So, I started August's Poppy by Cottage Garden Samplings. I first saw it on Beth's blog and fell in love with it. It has been a fun stitch so far.
I was recently at the Strawberry Sampler and found an adorable beach themed stitching pouch, so I decided it needed to come home with me and hold my summer projects. :-)

Well, I had better get to my update. Today is Beatrix Potter's birthday so we are having a Beatrix Potter themed tea tonight, so I had better get busy. :-)

This month, I used all of my carryover. I spent $66.15 on a couple of patterns, a magazine, some DMC, some over dyed threads and my new pouch. I had $ 65.90 carryover and $25 for July, so that leaves me with 24.75 to carryover.

Happy stitching!

Stitch from Stash update #6

Hi! Just popping in here to post my update for this month. It has been such a lovely month!:-) We have been crazy busy with company, traveling and spending as much time as possible outside that I haven't been able to stitch very much. I am almost finished with my August cottage. Hopefully this week.

We are busy getting ready for a backyard barbecue birthday bash tomorrow for my daughter. She is going to be 22 in a few days and we were moving on her birthday last year and so we are giving her a nice party this year. :-) Her birthday seems to be the time when things go wrong. Poor dear!  :-) Her 8th birthday,  her daddy was deployed to the Middle East, her 10th birthday was spent in the waiting room of the ER while her older brother was having an anaphylaxis attack from having accidentally gotten peanuts at her pool party. Shortly after her 12th birthday she was so excited about her baby brother being born that she was running in a parking lot and was ran over. Thankfully it was just her foot and leg. And then on her 18th birthday,  I had just been released from the icu after a brush with death. :-) I think she deserves a good party and birthday this year. :-)

We just recently returned from 4 days in Boston. We had to go for a work conference. It was amazing and we can't wait to go back for a long visit!

Well onto the budget part. This month Mel surprised us with an extra $50 dollars to spend. I decided to take advantage of this offer. :-)
I ended up getting August by Cottage Garden Samplings and the necessary threads and fabric. Two Jane Austen patterns from The Primitive Hare and a beach themed pattern from my LNS. So my total for the month is $ 62.48. That means I used all of my $25 budget and $37.48 from the bonus $50. So next month I will have my carryover of $65.90 from the previous months and my July allowance. I hope I have that right!  :-)

Well back to cleaning and preparing for tomorrow. I will leave you with some pictures from our month. :-)

Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #4

I know that I say this every month, but where has the time gone? ! I had every intention of doing a knitting post, but I lost track of time. I do plan on doing one very soon. :-)
Not a whole lot of stitching this month. I am taking several classes at my local yarn store, so I have been mainly knitting. But I hope to get back in the stitching groove soon. :-)
I finished my March Calendar girl and a little spring time freebie from Snowflower Diaries and I started the new spring freebie from Snowflower Diaries. I just love her designs. I actually started Slicker Bunny and got a few stitches into it and then got sidetracked with the spring bunny. :-)
Stash wise,I went a little bit over because I found a new to me stitching shop just as they were closing up. They were having a huge sale and I was able to get several new patterns all for $13!!! Thankfully, I still had carryover from previous months so I am still good. I also bought the new Tea Time pattern from the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, a piece of 32ct fabric and some DMC. So my grand total for the month is $29.40. So, that brings my total for the year up to $56.90 and that means that I have $43.10 carryover. :-) I am pretty pleased with myself. Now, I just need to join a knit from stash group! !!! :-) :-) :-)
Spring has finally arrived in northern Delaware! !!! We have been enjoying it so much. We went to Longwood Gardens today after church to see the spring flowers. It was amazing! I will add some pictures from there. I hope that you are having a fantastic spring or autumn. :-)
Happy stitching,
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #3

I can't believe I have let a month go between posts. Sorry! :-) I still haven't quite recovered from the flu, I am going to the doctor on Thursday, so hopefully we can figure out what is going on with me. Enough of me. :-)
I haven't stitched a whole lot, but I have gotten some progress to show. I finished February calendar girl and started March Calendar girl and I am almost done with it. I worked a little bit on my Party Cakes any then ran out of Poblano Pepper. The newer skeins were not even in the same color tones. The DMC wasn't close either, so I headed to The Strawberry Sampler and the wonderful ladies there came to my rescue. They had some older skeins in their stash. They are my heroes!  :-)
The other day we needed to go to Whole Foods, so what's a girl to do, but go across the street to The Strawberry Sampler. :-) :-) :-) I ended up picking up a piece of fabric for Slicker Bunny, some yellow wdw for the slicker, some wdw for Frosty Forest and a little DMC kit.
So my total for March is $25.60, but I have $48.10 carry over from the last two months, I am good to go.
Well, I hope to be back soon. I have a lot of knitting to show (I have been taking a mitten class, and I have few other things to show you. :-)
Did I mention that it's snowing here again! !! Blah!  :-(
Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Stitch from Stash update #2

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful birthday wishes!  You made my day!  Not too long after I posted, I went downhill quickly with the flu. We all ended up with it. My daughter didn't come out of her room, except for the necessary, for four days. I am still coughing. :-( Anyway, enough of that. :-) I will try to respond to everyone's comments soon. :-)
It is time again to post for the Stitch from Stash challenge. I am happy to report that I didn't spend anything this month. I did pick up the latest patterns for Frosty Forest and the Calendar Girls, but since I am on auto for those and I used my Christmas gift card at the Strawberry Sampler, I don't have to count them. :-)
One of the benefits of being sick and out of commission for so long is you get extra stitching time. :-)  I have made great progress on my Party Cakes and it's all from stash!  I have also started February Calendar Girl and besides the pattern, she is from stash. :-) I hope to finish her today. I have finished quite a bit of knitting too, but will show that another day.
It is snowing here again today, and after a couple of beautiful spring like days, it is quite depressing!  :-( Enough whining!  :-)
I hope you all are having a lovely day!
Happy stitching!
Love, Heather
