Summer Stitching and Finishing

Good morning! It's a gray and rainy day here in Northern Delaware. But it sure is making everything pretty and green!

I can hardly believe that I have finishes (!) to show you all! I think it is safe to say that my stitching mojo has returned! :-)

I finished up the Seasonal Celebrations : Summer by Country Cottage Needleworks. I loved it! I can't wait to stitch the rest of the series! I have ordered the frame and I am just waiting for it to come in. I will be sure to show you when I have that up.

My next finish is the adorable pattern from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery called The Bee Keeper. What a fun little stitch. I made it up into a scissor fob. I love it so much, it makes me smile every time I use it! The fabric that it's laying on in the picture is what is on the back!

My next new finish is a freebie from The Sampler Girl called By the Sea. I am a HUGE Jane Austen fan, and of course the sea/ocean, so this is perfect for me! It was a fun and easy stitch. I am still not sure what permanent finish I want to do for it, so for now I have it in a frame that I use in winter.

The next piece, I finished stitching last year. It's August Poppies by Cottage Garden Samplings.  I made it up this week. It's not a perfect finish, but I love it! I love the fabric for the back , it looks like some sort of sea creature. :-) I am adding a picture of my summer table, to show you where it is living. :-)

I found a really nice Quilt store and it's only about 15 minutes from my house! Danger! :-) I found some great fabrics to do some more finishing! :-)

My last finish for today is Flora McSample Strawberry Sampler by  Lizzie Kate that I stitched several years ago. I am not 100% sure about the finishing but I am trying to not be a perfectionist! :-)

I have several summer pieces in the works and some waiting their turn! :-) I pulled out an old ufo, Strawberry House from Little House Needleworks. I have a couple of other things started too, but I will save them for next week, when I do my final stitch from stash update.

Well, I will leave you with a picture of the our latest trip to the beach. My children are in the center of the picture. It was a gorgeous day!

I hope that you are all having a lovely day!
Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Your finish work is beautiful. I love the seasonal celebrations the best. Not a fan of summer but this is so bright and cherry that it makes me long for lazy days in the country. Your beach picture looks wonderful too. We're lucky if we can throw a little water on the lawn out here in California. The drought is awful! Glad you found your stitch mojo again!

You have been so busy, Heather! I really like your little Bee fob. I can see why it makes you smile. That gingham ribbon was a perfect choice! Your finishing is beautiful on your pieces, too. I haven't done any stitching for the last two weeks and feel out of the loop. My husband had emergency brain surgery last week and my mind hasn't been able to settle yet. He's home and doing well, so I see lots of stitching in the near future!

It's so lovely to see how you have displayed your summer table. And all these summer pieces are so beautifully stitched and finished. I am also in the middle of stitching summer pieces, the first time after a long while that I have settled down on smalls. But I see that your summer stitching is going on ...
