Stitch from Stash update #7

Good afternoon!  I hope you all are having a lovely Monday! We had huge thunderstorms roll through here in the middle of the night, so it's a little bit cooler today.

Thanks for your lovely comments on my cottage post. I am in the process of responding to comments from my last couple of posts.

July has been a very full month. My daughter had a lovely birthday, thank you for your kind birthday wishes for her. :-) We went to the beach for her birthday and to the Dogfish Head brewery for dinner. It was amazing! :-)

Not too long before we left the beach, hubby was body surfing and got taken off guard and slammed by the waves and ended up breaking his wrist and dislocating his elbow. :-(
Being the good daddy that he is, he didn't want it to interfere with her day, so he downplayed it and didn't go to urgent care until that night when we got home. :-)

Since moving to Delaware,I have truly fallen in love with the seashore! :-) If we lived closer to the beach,I am pretty sure that I would be there every day! :-)
When I was choosing my next project after finishing my August cottage, I decided to pick out a beach themed one. So, I started August's Poppy by Cottage Garden Samplings. I first saw it on Beth's blog and fell in love with it. It has been a fun stitch so far.
I was recently at the Strawberry Sampler and found an adorable beach themed stitching pouch, so I decided it needed to come home with me and hold my summer projects. :-)

Well, I had better get to my update. Today is Beatrix Potter's birthday so we are having a Beatrix Potter themed tea tonight, so I had better get busy. :-)

This month, I used all of my carryover. I spent $66.15 on a couple of patterns, a magazine, some DMC, some over dyed threads and my new pouch. I had $ 65.90 carryover and $25 for July, so that leaves me with 24.75 to carryover.

Happy stitching!
Love, Heather

Lovely progress on your August garden journal. I'm looking forward to getting to this one as living by the sea it is perfect!

Hope your husband is healing well.

Happy Belated Birthday to your daughter.

You're still doing well on your stitch from stash. It does us good to have a wee treat now and again!

I hope the hubby is all better. I love the sea also. I have missed lots of beach walks this summer thanks to spring knee replacement!I think that is an especially cute beach stitch. I may do it myself.

Perfect stitch for you - loving the beach as you do! I'm getting it framed and should have it show in a few weeks.

Delaware is so far from here (SW Washington state); we spend our time at the river, but we do make it over to the Pacific at least once every summer. I could stare at the ocean all. day. long. :) My husband enjoys trying new brewpubs, so it's good to know they have them back east, too.

Ouch! That sounds like a very painful trip to the beach for your husband, Heather. I hope he heals quickly... Sounds like you are really enjoying living on the East Coast--I'm so glad! And you are so close to so many wonderful cities in Delaware.

Ha--the Dogfish Head brewery! My husband would be in heaven--that is one of his favorite brewers...

Love your new pouch and the sea side stitching piece--enjoy your August!

I hope your husband has a speedy recovery from his mishap at the beach. We usually go to Ocean City New Jersey and I've never had any problems in the water. One year we did visit Bethany Beach a few times, and each time I was pretty battered up. I love your new stitching pouch and your beach themed stitching. :)
