Thankful!

Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. May your day be filled with lots of fun and happy memories! 

I have so much to be thankful for in my life! I have been purposely choosing to look for all of the blessings in my life and focusing on them instead of the things that make me worried and it has really changed me for the better and I am thankful for that!  :-) I am thankful for the friends that I have made through blogging!

I finished Give Thanks on Tuesday evening. Hubby ended up having to work late and daughter was in Baltimore volunteering at the Operation Christmas Child distribution center, so little man and I watched cheesy Christmas cartoons and I stitched. :-) I did a simple finish for it so I could enjoy it for a few days this year. I stitched it on 32 ct. PP Doubloon. I used the recommended threads except for I used 436 instead of 422. The pattern is by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. It was such a fun stitch. :-)

Stitch from Stash update #11

Good afternoon! This is going to be a large post and I apologize for the size of it! :-) As you may have noticed, I have been a bit m.i.a. Well without boring you with my troubles, I have been having a really hard time with my back, so I went to a back doctor last week and it looks like I am going to have to have back surgery. :-( I need to get stronger and lose some weight first. I started physical therapy yesterday and I am hoping that I will eventually not be in constant pain.  Well, enough of that. :-)

 

I have been a little busy stitching the last couple of months, since I last posted some actual stitching photos. :-)

 

I am going to try and catch up where I left off. When I last posted,I was working on my August Poppies. I finished that and went on to autumn stitching. I only finished two little pieces. I kept getting distracted. :-) The lovely Sally, gifted me with two patterns and the threads to stitch them! I completed the first one which was . And the second one was Woodland Samplings by LHN. I have made just a tiny start on it.

 

The second autumn finish was pumpkins by Heart and Hand. I changed it all up. :-) I wanted to add white pumpkins and make it a little more colorful. :-) I really enjoyed stitching this one.

My other two autumn starts are Give Thanks by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, which I hope to finish tonight or tomorrow. :-) The second one is the Harvest thread pack by LHN. I was doing really well, and then I discovered a major mistake, so it went into time out. :-)

 

I have been also working on some Christmas stitching. I finished Gingerbread Tree by LHN. I started that one back in January. I have also been working on Snowglobe by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and I have kitted up several more ornaments to stitch. :-)

 

I also finally finished the first of the Frosty Forest series. Hopefully I will be able to work on that more after I am finished with Christmas stitching. :-)

 

I have made myself a little stitching tin with my current ornaments and a tiny tin with my stitching necessities in it. I am loving it. I saw the idea on @heyporkchop instagram feed.  She is half of the dynamic duo of The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. :-)

 

I have also been doing a ton of birthday and Christmas knitting , which I will show after Christmas. :-)

 

Well, I think that catches me up. If you made it this far, you deserve a prize. :-)

Now onto the nitty gritty of the sfs update. I used my bonus buying fabric and threads for my kitted ornaments. And for this month's budget I have spent $14.94. $9.99 for this year's ornament issue and $4.95 for the Give Thanks pattern. :-)

 

So, I have $61.36 carryover and adding this month's budget of $ 25.00. That gives me $86.36 to start. I used $ 14.94 this month.  So for next month that will leave me with $71.42 carryover. :-)

3 free patterns and a couple of finishes.

Happy Wednesday afternoon!  It is a beautiful day here in northern Delaware. It is actually sunny.  ;-) 45 degrees but sunny.
Several things have occurred in the last few weeks to give me a lot of extra stitching time plus I have had a few projects that were close to being finished. I have 3 projects finished! !! Yeah for me.

The first thing I have finished is my November Cottage. Once I finished that I was on a roll and pulled out  Autumn Band Sampler by Little House Needleworks. I changed the colors of the words and sunflowers to GAST Harvest Moon and the center of the sunflowers I changed to DMC 3031.

After that I pulled out my Truly Thankful piece by Heartstring Samplery. I ran into a mistake but not until the very end so instead of frogging the entire right side, I decided to add an acorn down on the bottom right corner. I like how it turned out. I am not sure how I will finish it yet, so I will tuck it in the closet until I decide.

The final finish is an ornament that I started last Christmas day. Victoria Sampler's Button up Birdie English Robin. I stitched it on a scrap of mystery 32ct.fabric with all of the called for threads.

I am now working on December cottage and I have made pretty good progress and then earlier I noticed that I must have spilled a drop of my smoothie on it this morning.  :-(  I washed it but there is still a faint spot. I have decided to keep stitching as most of it will be covered by the frame.

I am trying to keep my stash to a minimum so I am going to start going through it and selling and giving away ones that I have finished.So if you are interested in the pattern for Autumn Band Sampler or Truly Thankful. Trying to settle in....

Hi! I thought I would pop in and say hello. We are still trying to settle in. It seems that the older I get the harder it is to move. ;-)
We are learning our way around a bit. I have been to The Strawberry Sampler up in Pennsylvania and I have some new stash to prove it!  ;-) I tried to meet up with Catherine from Bramblewood Stitches, but it didn't work out. We are hoping it will work out soon.

I have a major case of startitis lately. I have started several new knitting projects and cross stitch projects too. I am thinking of starting Pumpkin Patch Inn too.;-) I am working on October cottage by CCN and Autumn Band Sampler by LHN.
It is starting to look like Autumn around here. It was 48 degrees when I woke up yesterday. It is so lovely after living in the desert for so long.
My daughter and I had a girls day yesterday and ventured up into Pennsylvania to a lovely tea room. It was so delightful!
Well the boys have gone down to the bay to go fishing so I am going to make a cup of tea and stitch for a while. :-) I will try to be better about posting!  ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends. I pray that this day is filled with many blessings for all of my crafty friends!!! ;o)

This is a basket liner that I stitched sometime in the late 90's or early 2000's. I pull it out every year for Thanksgiving.

 We had a lovely dinner today. We missed our oldest son as he is saving his holiday time to come out in January to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary. We are off to our friend's home in a little while for dessert and then I think we will finish the wine when we get home and maybe watch It's a Wonderful Life! ;o)

I will be back in a day or two to share some stitching and some knitting. ;o)

Autumn scissor fob and card

Hi! Just a quick post to show you a scissor fob I made for a friend. She admired mine, so I decided to make her one too. This is from the design Autumn is in the Air by Brittercup Designs. I stitched it on 32ct Cream Linen with the called for threads. I also made her a card to go with it. I used PTI's Leaf Prints and their Wood-grain Impression Plate. I LOVE that impression plate! ;o) I sure hope she likes it! ;o)

Pumkins 4 Sale Framed and some progress

Hi!! I hope y'all are having a lovely November day! I picked up my Pumpkins 4 Sale from the framers. I really like how it turned out. It is sitting in a frame easel on my entry way table in my sitting room. I am done with Autumn stitching for this year. I had thought I might try to stitch a few smalls, but I am ready to move on the Christmas stitching.

I have been working on ornaments so I haven't made to much progress on my Peppermint Lane, but there is some progress. I am hoping to having this finished by the 16th to take it to the framers in Tucson when we go there for a doctor's appointment. If not then, by the 21st when I go to pick up my Mom at the airport. ;o)

I finished my Merry Christmas ornament on Saturday. I am going to use the rickrack as part of the trim. I dislike *finishing* ornaments so it will probably be awhile before I show the finished product! ;o)

Hi! I hope y'all are having a lovely day! It is a beautiful day here in Southern AZ. It is supposed to be 84 degrees and sunny! ;o)

I finished LHN's Pumpkins 4 Sale a couple of weeks ago and it is at the framers. I hope to get a call that it is finished sometime this week or early next week. I have started CCN's Peppermint Lane and CCN's christmas ornament from this year's Just Cross~Stitch ornament issue.

I joined the 2011 Christmas Ornament Challenge. I am going to start LHN's Joy and Peace tomorrow for it. I just need to cut my fabric sometime today. I will be sure to post pictures.

I am really going to try and be a better blogger. ;o) I have been stamping a little so I hope to have a post about that up in a few days.

Back from the framers.....

Hi y'all! Sorry I just dropped off for a while! I am having some health issues. Anyway, I got my pictures back from the framers this week. I am happy with them. I need to get better about stretching them. You can see that Acorn Hill is a little squiggly as my 7 year old would say! ;o)

You can see where I have put Pumpkin Cottage for now in this picture. This view is from my couch in my sitting room. I am going to paint the easel that it is on as soon as it cools down a bit here. (It is 94 degrees out!)

Since I last posted I finished The Rose in the Morning by LHN and I am currently working on Pumpkins for Sale by LHN and the ornament that CCN designed for this years Just Cross Stitch ornament magazine. I will hopefully post pictures soon! ;o)

Acorn Hill

I put the last stitches in Acorn Hill this afternoon!!! I love how this one turned out! The stitching went a lot faster than I thought it would! I stretched it this evening and it is headed to the framers tomorrow! I am taking a small break from Autumn stitching. ;o) I have a couple of things that are close to being stitched, so I am going to finish those and then I have a gift I want to stitch. But after that I will pick my Autumn stitching back up. ;o)

Acorn Hill was stitched on 28ct. Vintage Lentil from Lakeside Linens. LOVE this fabric. I love the mottled green! ;o) I did use the Crescent Colours Conversion. And if you are thinking of stitching this yourself. I needed two skeins of Brown Sugar and I came close on Bramble Bush and Weeping Willow. ;o)

A finish and a new start...

I have a new finish! I started Autumn Harvest by Little House Needleworks on Sunday August 7th and finished it on Sunday August 14th. I stitched it on 28ct Tea dyed Irish Linen with the recommended DMC threads. It was a very fun and fast stitch. I am getting it ready to be taken to the framers this weekend. I will show it when I get it back.

I have already started a new Autumn stitch. It is Acorn Hill by Little House Needleworks. I am stitching it on 28 ct Vintage Lentil by Lakeside Linens with the Crescent Colours substitution. I took this picture yesterday and I have already made a lot more progress. This one is going to take me a lot longer, so I will be sure and show updates.

Sorry the pictures are so dark, it is Monsoon season here in Arizona so we have been having storms every day! YEAH!
